The Albertville Friendly City Days festival is almost here! My family loves when the carnival trucks roll into town because Friendly City Days is how we kick off summer. This year’s festival is taking place June 5–9, with five days of fun for all ages.
You can view the full event schedule here, but I’ve compiled a list below of the events that are especially suited to families with kids.
One of my favorite things about Minnesota in the summer is all the city festivals that pop up each month. While they tend to have certain things in common—like live music, royalty coronation, etc.—each one has its own unique flair and selection of activities.
Here’s a list of this summer’s area city festivals:

This Saturday, your family can walk, bike, or roll to the St. Michael City Center for Open Streets STMA, where a portion of the street will be closed off to car traffic so that families can gather to enjoy art, food, games, and more while getting to know others in the community.
This annual St. Michael Bike Rodeo event is hosted by FYCC, and some of the highlights include emergency vehicle tours, vendor booths, bounce houses, costumed characters, and a bike parade.
The event takes place Saturday, May 18 from 10am to 2pm and is FREE to attend! More details are available in the flyer below or on the Open Streets STMA Facebook page.
