Would your K-4 child like a patient, attentive friend to read to? Reading to a dog provides the opportunity for your child to read to a registered therapy dog in a relaxed atmosphere. The library will have Sugar, a cuddly Goldendoodle, who will sit with your child and "listen" to a story. Children can practice reading out loud without fear of judgment. It's a great way for kids to gain confidence in their reading. Sign up for a reading time with Sugar at the library or call (763) 497-1998.
School-aged kids are invited to stop in at the library during open hours and get a nature- or outdoor-themed craft to take home (while supplies last). Sponsored by St. Michael Friends of the Library.

Celebrate the Summer Reading Program with a show featuring live reptiles! Jim Gerholdt will bring artifacts like shells, skulls, and skins for you to check out along with live turtles, lizards, and snakes. Afterward the St. Michael Royalty will be passing out treats and signing kids up for the reading program.
Stop by Great River Regional Library to sign up for the annual Summer Reading Program, which runs June 6 – August 6. The program is open to all kids ages 0-18 and is divided by age: pre-readers, kids, and teens. Participants can track their reading either using paper logs or in the Beanstack app and will be eligible for prize drawings at the end of the program.
Design, Configure, and Build! School-aged kids are invited to do a Master LEGO challenge or build their own Lego creation. Creations will be displayed at the library for one month.
Literacy starts with babies! Little ones ages 0–28 months and their caregivers can join library staff for stories, songs, and crafts.
Join STMA ECFE staff for storytime at the library, complete with crafts, games, and songs! For ages 0-6 with a parent/caregiver. No registration required.
It's time for Storytime with Ms. Trish! Enjoy books, songs, and rhymes designed to promote school readiness in 0-5 year olds. Siblings are also welcome. Registration not required.
