St. Michael is getting ready to make some beautiful music with the addition of its newest business, SoundHouse.

Located just two minutes west of downtown St. Michael, SoundHouse is on a mission to provide high-quality music education to families in the STMA area. The instructors currently offer private lessons in piano, guitar, drums, and voice and plan to add both group lessons and early childhood classes in the near future.

The dream of opening a music school in STMA was born when St. Michael mom Tiffini Ventura—who has six kids of her own—experienced the struggle of driving her kids to music lessons in other cities. Ventura eventually teamed up with her good friends, experienced musicians Justin and Kristen Bazzani, to bring SoundHouse to St. Michael-Albertville.

SoundHouse was founded with a simple goal in mind—to inspire and educate the next generation of musicians. The name “SoundHouse” itself originated in part from the idea of learning music in an environment that feels comfortable and familiar, like being a part of a family.

“We want to create a community around music,” Ventura explains, “a family…a place where we can really mentor the students.”

While the most common format is 1-on-1 lessons for individuals, SoundHouse also offers “Buddy Lessons” that enable two students close in age to learn the same instrument at the same time. In addition to being a more affordable option for families, Buddy Lessons and group lessons enable students to develop their musical technique in a more team-like environment.

“We hope someday we can even provide a space where older kids can get dropped off to practice their instruments and hang out,” says Ventura.

SoundHouse is currently enrolling for all types of lessons, as well as seeking piano teachers.
