Top 5 Local Apple Orchards

Fall will be here soon, and with it comes the opportunity for your family to visit one of our area’s fantastic apple orchards!

Here’s a list of five of the most popular orchards among STMA residents, all of which include pick-your-own apples.

Opening dates have been updated for 2023, but please check orchard websites for specific hours and offerings.

Apple Jack Orchards, Delano (17 minutes)
There’s a lot to do at this popular fall destination—wagon rides, cow train, jumping pillow, corn pit, apple cannon, corn maze, and a kids’ zipline. The orchard is open daily, but activities are limited on weekdays, so visit the website for detailed hours and offerings.

Deer Lake Orchard, Buffalo (25 minutes)
Deer Lake is a family-run orchard with farm animals, kids play area, wagon rides, corn maze, and more. Make sure to check out their selection of cider and baked goods! On weekends they also feature live music. Check their website for current activities and special events.

Fall Harvest Orchard, Montrose (30 minutes)
Despite it being a bit of a drive, Fall Harvest Orchard is one of the most-recommended local orchards by local parents. This location has farm animals, corn pits, a kids play area, train ride, wagon rides, and a corn maze. Open Thursday through Sunday. Visit website for hours and to find out which varieties of apple will be available on which dates.

LuceLine Orchard, Watertown (37 minutes)
LuceLine Orchard is a huge 155-acre property with thousands of trees and grapevines as well as 7 acres of pumpkins. They are open Wednesday through Sunday and feature lots of activities for kids including hayrides, kiddie train, farm animals, hay mountain, corn maze, and a corn pit.

Woods’ Edge Apples, Buffalo (17 minutes)
Woods’ Edge in Buffalo is just the place if you’re looking for a smaller, less commercial experience than the locations listed above. They are a family-run farm that likes to be known as “quaint with quality,” and offer raspberry picking and pumpkins in addition to apples. You’ll also find goats and a gift shop featuring cider, jam, and fall decor.

    Woods Edge is a good one for picking apples yourself. My favorite quick apple stop.
