Earlier this week I mentioned that it’s “Shop Local Week” in STMA. (You can read more about the value of shopping at local businesses at stmamom.com/shoplocal.)
Here are five of MY favorite places to “shop local” in St. Michael–Albertville:
It’s Shop Local Week in St. Michael–Albertville, seven days dedicated to the celebration of local businesses and to keeping our shopping dollars in our own community.
Why shop local?
So this week, help to stimulate our local economy by spending money at STMA businesses. Click here to view a list of businesses that belong to Shop STMA, and keep your eyes out for other great local places where you can invest money back into the community.

This week I wanted to take the kids somewhere to celebrate fall, but it’s been so rainy and windy lately that we’ve found it hard to do anything outdoors. It was definitely time for a visit to 101 Market in Otsego!
101 Market, started as a small greenhouse over 20 years ago and has expanded over the years to become a full-fledged home and garden center. In the fall, it’s a great local destination for family fun! In the greenhouses you’ll find row after row of pumpkins—all sizes and colors!—plus Indian corn, gorgeous mums, and lots of other fall decor.
The Kids Fall Movie Series is coming to the St. Michael Cinema!
From September 30 through November 21, our favorite local theater will be featuring great family films—a new one each week—and tickets will be available for just $1. Films and showtimes are listed below.
In addition, the theater is partnering with local schools to sell series passes, which provide admission to each film in the series and return a portion of the sales back to the school of your choice! Two types of series passes are being offered this fall:
Series passes can be purchased at FYCC, Kremer’s Toy & Hobby, and Sadie’s Cafe. Stop by during their businesses hours to purchase your passes, and let them know which school you’d like to receive a benefit!
