Did your family visit the Minnesota State Fair this year? What did you do there… and more importantly, what did you EAT? Or maybe you didn’t make it to the fair. Maybe you don’t even like the State Fair (gasp!) with all of its crowds and animal smells and heat.
Regardless of how you feel about the fair, you still probably have a handful of fair foods that you crave. My personal top three are pronto pups, cheese curds, and funnel cake, and on the years we skip the fair, I really miss them. Did you know, though, that you can find a lot of popular fair foods right here in our community?

Everyone’s favorite local coffee shop just got a major upgrade. As of this week, Sadie’s Coffee of St. Michael is now Sadie’s Café and will be serving a full menu of breakfast items such as waffles, French toast, omelettes, and more.
Many of the more traditional menu items are named with local love—the Saint Michael, the Hwy 241, and The Colonial—while others are bound to surprise you, like the Barnyard plate that includes BBQ pulled pork, bacon, sausage, and eggs… plus hashbrowns and an English muffin. (Uffda!)
Mother’s Day is coming up this weekend, and there are lots of opportunities in our area to spend some special time with your family or to simply treat yourself. I was surprised at the variety of events available, so make sure to read all the way through and find the one that’s right for you!

Dunn Brothers Coffee in St. Michael is quickly becoming my favorite place in the area to grab a treat, especially on an evening out with a friend or even by myself. (Helloooo, “me” time!) If food is what you’re looking for, you’ll find breakfast items, pastries, sandwiches, salads, and pizzas.

See that? That’s a kid-sized table, and a shelf stocked with a variety of toys, games, coloring books, and more to keep kids occupied while you take a few minutes to yourself.
