Schools are out and families are sheltering-in, but that doesn’t mean we can’t keep having fun! Here’s a calendar of fun activities for your family to enjoy at home during the month of April.
Special thanks to local blogger mom Ashley at Everybody’s Fed, Nobody’s Dead for collaborating with me on this list!

April 1 – National Walking Day
Go for a walk around the neighborhood. Count how many of your neighbors are doing the same thing. Be sure to wave and say “Hi” to them!
April 2 – National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day
Find a new twist on an old classic with six different ways to make a PB&J. Then print out this free Peanut Butter and Jelly Counting Activity to work on number skills.
April 3 – National Find a Rainbow Day
See who can wear the most colors! As a family, set a timer and race to put on as many clothes and accessories as it takes to be wearing every color of the rainbow. Print out small rainbows, let kids color them, and hide the rainbows around the house. Have everyone try to find them all by the end of the day. Print free rainbows here: Printable Rainbow Templates

Here is a collection of resources available to families during the school cancellation and social distancing period as a result of COVID-19.

If you have an aspiring “ninja warrior” in your house, make sure to check out the Ninja Warrior Camp making its return to St. Michael this summer!
Ninjas United of St. Cloud is bringing its high-end obstacles and professional instruction to the field behind St. Michael City Hall. The event’s organizer, Kevin Hogan, is a St. Michael resident and 2-time competitor on the TV show American Ninja Warrior. Obstacles range from very easy to hard and include hanging from rings, climbing ropes, swinging, jumping, etc.

As an at-home mom to littles, nothing used to frustrate me more in the springtime than showing up to an indoor play area with a toddler expecting a peaceful playtime and unexpectedly finding it overrun with “big kids.” 😬
Whether you’re in that same boat, or you’re simply planning activities for your school-aged kids, this schedule of local schools’ spring breaks should come in handy.
