Gather up the family and some mugs of hot cocoa, because it’s time for the annual community favorite, the STMA Holiday Lights Tour! This year’s tour includes some of the best and brightest holiday light displays in our community. Follow the path below to visit 7 different locations over the course of 1 hour.
If you have less time or only want to hit the highlights, click here to access the 4-location, 40-minute version. Or, if you want even MORE lights, check out our honorable mentions list at the bottom of this page!
Remember to be a good neighbor!
Please stay in your vehicle and resist the urge to go walking through people’s yards. No parking in driveways, making loud noise, or honking. Please pull all the way to the right so traffic can get by, and turn off your headlights if it’s safe to do so. Turn around only in cul-de-sacs, not driveways.
Lydia Circle NE, Albertville
Our tour begins at not just a house, but an entire cul-de-sac. The Lydia Circle neighbors come together each year to light their homes for the season, and I could swear that the street gets brighter every year! This year you’ll even find a giant Christmas tree at the center.
6813 67th Street NE, Albertville
Just across from Lydia Circle, Mr. Creed’s home has its lights choreographed to music. Tune in to 87.9 to catch a song, and be sure to watch for the singing Christmas trees that made me laugh out loud. Find out more about this display at mrcreedslights.com.
5669 Large Ave NE, Albertville
My kids regularly ask when we can visit the “Singing Santa” house. The Wirtz family’s famous display features hundreds of plastic figures and thousands of lights that are programmed to dance to music—you can tune it in at 89.1 FM. Bonus: Grab a copy of the I-Spy game from the front mailbox. There’s a new one each week!
11871 36th Circle NE, St. Michael
This dazzling display is a new favorite of my daughter’s and mine. Be sure to roll down the window to catch a bit of the music playing, and watch for the dancing lights!
4168 Jansen Ave NE, St. Michael
Another community favorite is the Kneeland Lights display, which features several great Christmas songs set to music. Shows are playing every night from now through New Year’s from 5 to 9:30pm and can be heard at 87.9 FM.
100 1st Street SE, St. Michael
This popular display just off of 241 near Walgreens & Dunn Brothers lights up the neighborhood—you won’t need my map to find it! On less-busy nights, we suggest taking the time to drive around this house to see both sides of the display.
“Holiday Lights on 20th Street”—11594 20th Street NE, St. Michael
This is the “grand finale” of our tour, known as the “Holiday Lights on 20th Street.” Several of the homes on 20th get in on the action, so be sure to check out the great displays on both sides of the street. The starring attraction is house number 11594, whose popular musical light display even has its own Facebook page! Tune in to 99.3 FM and enjoy the show, which runs 5:30–9:00 Sunday–Thursday and 5:30–9:30 on Friday & Saturday. Owners Bob & Brenda are collecting both food and monetary donations for the Hanover Food Shelf, so be sure to bring along something to add to the donation box on the side of the driveway. (NOTE: Show may run shorter hours on Christmas Eve; be sure to check Facebook for details)
There are so many beautiful lights displays in our area that we can’t possibly feature them all! Here are some more great homes for you to check out when you have the time:
