How does your family like to celebrate the 4th of July? If parades or fireworks are on your Independence Day wish list, here are some local spots to consider for your family’s holiday.
As with any community celebration, these events are very popular, so we suggest arriving early to get a good seat for parades and fireworks, and taking care to drive your family home safely afterward!
Elk River Fireworks Display
Elk River’s annual Independence Day fireworks show will take place on July 4th at 10pm. Fireworks will be launched from the Oak Knoll Athletic Complex, and official viewing areas include Elk River High School, Salk Middle School, and Lion John Weicht Park.

Delano 4th of July Celebration
Minnesota’s oldest and largest 4th of July celebration, the city of Delano celebrates each year with 5 days of events including nightly live music and dancing, sports tournaments, a royalty coronation, and much more. On the 4th of July itself, you can enjoy the parade at 10:30 am, carnival from noon to midnight, and a huge 27-minute(!) fireworks spectacular over Central Park starting at 10:30pm.

Annandale 4th of July Celebration
Annandale’s 5-day celebration features a carnival, parade, food vendors, music, and of course—fireworks! The 4th of July parade begins at 10am, and fireworks take place at dusk (around 10pm) over Annandale Municipal Park.

Coon Rapids 4th of July Celebration
The Coon Rapids 4th of July celebration runs Sunday–Tuesday with a daily carnival, food trucks, bingo and more, culminating in live music and fireworks on the evening of July 4th. Fireworks begin at 10pm and are best viewed from the grounds of the Coon Rapids Ice Center or Anoka-Ramsey Community College.
