Beebe Lake Park & Beach (St. Michael)

For us, summers in STMA aren’t complete without at least one visit to Beebe Lake Park & Beach.

Tucked away in southwest St. Michael, this gem of a park—which is actually a regional park operated by Wright County—offers a little something for everyone. In addition to a long stretch of beach, Beebe Lake Park has a playground, fishing dock, sand volleyball courts, lots of green space with tables for picnics, a pavilion for hosting parties, and an extensive trail system.

We love getting here early in the day to grab a shady stretch of sand to camp out at for the day. If possible, I love to launch my kayak right from the beach to tool around in the still water just beyond the swimming area. (There is also a boat launch located just on the other side of the fishing pier.) We appreciate that there are indoor restrooms just up the hill and a rinse station for helping us clean off all the sand before we head home.

One drawback to this park is that the beach is located at a lower elevation than the parking lot, so you’ll need to make your way down a set of stairs or a hill, which can limit how much gear you’re able to bring if you have young kids in tow. As kids age, though, they become fantastic “stuff” carriers. (My oldest knows that carrying mom’s beach chair is her job, haha.😆)
