Open Streets STMA – Saturday, Sep. 16

Next Saturday, September 16 from 10 to 2, join us in downtown Albertville for FYCC’s semi-annual community festival, Open Streets STMA.

More than just a street festival, Open Streets gives St. Michael-Albertville families the opportunity to explore our neighborhood and get to know the local businesses.

Get Your Fair Food Fix in STMA

Did your family visit the Minnesota State Fair this year? What did you do there… and more importantly, what did you EAT? Or maybe you didn’t make it to the fair. Maybe you don’t even like the State Fair (gasp!) with all of its crowds and animal smells and heat.

Regardless of how you feel about the fair, you still probably have a handful of fair foods that you crave. My personal top three are pronto pups, cheese curds, and funnel cake, and on the years we skip the fair, I really miss them. Did you know, though, that you can find a lot of popular fair foods right here in our community?

Viewing the 2017 Solar Eclipse

View the eclipse safely! Find out how at eclipse2017.nasa.gov/safety

So, unless you’ve been living under a moon rock, you know that this Monday the United States will be experiencing a very rare type of solar eclipse.

Here in the St. Michael–Albertville area, we will have the opportunity to see a partial eclipse, meaning that about 83% of the sun’s light will be covered by the moon at the peak of the event. The eclipse will be visible from 11:45 to 2:30, with the maximum eclipse taking place at 1:05 p.m.
