Fall 2017 Community Ed Activities

The Fall 2017 brochure from Community Education will be hitting mailboxes this week!

In it you’ll find information about early childhood (ECFE) programs, youth sports, music lessons, art classes, and MUCH more for your kids… as well as a handful of classes, trips, and athletic opportunities for adults.

Summer Creative Kids Camps

Community Education’s Creative Kids Camps kick off next week and are being offered through mid-July.

Kids ages 4 through 3rd grade can take part in these week-long camps that encourage creativity and learning in a fun environment. Topics include everything from painting and printmaking to music and acting. Your child can create a fairy garden, finger knit a cowl, or even earn their white belt in karate!

There are four calendar sessions to choose from, each one offering a variety of themes and projects from a large pool of instructors.

The classes take place at St. Michael Elementary, and the cost is $45 for a four-day camp. Your student can also sign up for multiple classes during the same session at a discounted price. (2 classes $75, or 3 classes $95)

2017 Summer Swimming Lessons

The weather may still be doing that crazy snow-in-spring thing outside today, but it’s already time to be thinking about warm weather and swimming. Registration for summer swim lessons is taking place at programs around our area, and the time slots are known to fill up quickly!

There are a variety of options for lessons in and around St. Michael–Albertville, and each one offers something a little different from the next. Here is a list of the most popular programs in our area, loosely sorted by distance, popularity, and price.

If you have experience with any of these programs,
please share about it in the comments below!

STMA Community Education*
Lessons are available for kids starting at 18 months with a parent, or 4 years without, and they are offered at various times throughout the summer. All lessons take place at Middle School East.
See the listings under “Aquatics” in the community education brochure: http://stmamom.com/the-summer-activities-brochure-is-here | Register online at stma.ce.eleyo.com.
(Afternoon open swim hours are also listed in the brochure)

Monticello Community Education
Kids can start lessons at 16 months in this program (age 4 without a parent), and there are five different blocks of the summer to choose from, versus STMA’s four. Lessons take place at Monticello Middle School.

Summer Preschool Getaway

This summer, STMA Community Ed is hosting Preschool Getaway for the little ones ages 3 through 5.

If you have kids who are going into preschool or kindergarten in the fall, this is a great opportunity for them to have fun and keep their minds engaged during the summer, while also helping them learn the routines and expectations for school.

There are sessions offered in June and July, each one with a morning or afternoon option, and the cost for each session is $125. Check out the flyer below for more info, and then register online at stma.ce.eleyo.com.
