Otsego's Prairie Festival is an annual community celebration featuring local exhibitors, activities and entertainment for the whole family. The festival starts at 10am and continues throughout the day, culminating with a fireworks display at dusk. Full schedule at otsegofestival.com
Inspired by the book The Dot by Peter Reynolds, preschoolers in this class will have fun creating crafts using a variety of items to make dots! We will also be reading the book The Dot. (science, technology, engineering and math) Visit the library and try out one of their new STEM challenge kits purchased with funds from the Locally Growin' campaign. Use the library's supply of LEGO bricks to design, configure, and build! Try out one of their master LEGO challenges or build your own creation. Finished creations will be put on display in the library. For ages 5 and up, no registration required.
Calling all construction truck lovers! Day of the Dozers™ is a fun family event that provides an opportunity to educate families about the construction industry, while at the same time raising money for Children’s Minnesota. At the event, children can ride inside a wide variety of construction vehicles alongside a friendly certified machine operator, play in sandpits, participate in other fun activities, and enjoy great food from some delicious local food trucks. Little ones birth to age 5 are invited to join Otsego Parks & Rec to jump, play, create artistic masterpieces, make friends, and have fun! Activities will include crafts, games, and stories that help with early child development. Encourage a love of learning as you and your child play, explore, discover, count, and create. Join the library staff anytime during the hour for an open-ended play session. Activities are designed for ages 1 to 5. Registration is not required, but room limits may be enforced.
Bring your favorite stuffed animal to the library for a storytime sleepover! Listen to stories, sing songs, and show-and-tell your stuffed animal. Then kiss your stuffed animal goodnight and leave them at the library for a sleepover! The next morning, pick up your stuffed friend, enjoy a breakfast treat, and hear about their adventures at the library. This event has been RESCHEDULED to September 30. Bring your kids to this FREE event hosted by the STMA Rotary Club! Children will run an age-appropriate course around St. Michael's Town Center Park and "win" a root beer float and medal when they cross the finish line. This event is held in conjunction with STMA Rotary's Cork & Keg 5K & beverage tasting event, and parents are welcome to sign up for the run or beverage tasting if they'd like.
