Fresh Acres Corn Maze – Opening September 22

This weekend my daughter and I got to grab a sneak peek at the brand new Fresh Acres Corn Maze and all the other fun fall activities they’re preparing for their grand opening on Saturday, September 22.

Zeke Berg and his hard-working kids gave us a tour of their property that features a 5-acre corn maze, corn pit, hay bale maze, petting zoo, lawn games, and more. Plus, every weekend from now through October they’ll also be bringing in food vendors and inflatables to help make your visit to Fresh Acres something the whole family will enjoy!

Fresh Acres features two corn maze paths to keep everyone entertained, as well as accompanying mystery games that require you to search for clues within the maze itself. The smaller maze (roughly 1/3 mile) has a game designed for kids 8 and under. My 5-year-old and I got to try out this maze, and she had a blast! I’d estimate that this maze takes about 20 minutes to complete.

The larger maze (roughly 2 1/2 miles), has a game designed for all ages. Note: Zeke mentioned that the larger maze can take about an hour to navigate, so grab a snack and make your kids use the port-a-potty before heading that way! 😉

Zeke and his wife, Dana, founded Fresh Acres two years ago when their love of growing things prompted them to move from a suburban home in Albertville to a sprawling farm in Monticello. Their mission is to produce healthy, locally grown food to feed their family and yours.  They grow all their food in an organic manner and raise free-range animals including chickens and turkeys.

Keeping with their mission, the Berg family grew the corn for the maze without spraying with harsh chemicals so that you can enjoy the maze without worrying about what’s on your kids’ shoes when you get home. (Even the corn used in the corn pit is from farms transitioning to organic certification!)
