Encourage a love of learning as you and your child play, explore, discover, count, and create. Join the library staff anytime during the hour for an open-ended play session. Activities are designed for ages 1 to 5. Registration is not required, but room limits may be enforced.
Use the library's supply of LEGO bricks to design, configure, and build! Try out one of their master LEGO challenges or build your own creation. Finished creations will be put on display in the library. For ages 5 and up, no registration required.
Anytime can be the right time to explore STEM! (science, technology, engineering and math) Visit the library and try out one of their new STEM challenge kits purchased with funds from the Locally Growin' campaign. FYCC and the Friends of the Library are bringing back the ever-popular "Touch a Truck" event at St. Michael Library! All ages are welcome to enjoy a truck-themed story and craft at the library from 9:30 to 10. Then, take your kids out to the parking lot from 10 to 11 to see, touch, and climb inside their favorite vehicles.
Get ready to sing, dance, and laugh with the high-energy, highly interactive kids' show! Dolli and Pop are sisters who have traveled all the way from Sweet Tart City to bring you on a magical and musical road trip that is sure to get kids (and their parents!) moving, grooving, and making memories. From classic beach tunes to current Hollywood and pop hits, Dolli and Pop use music to allow kids the chance to use their imaginations, to sing and dance along, and even to enjoy their very own four and a half minutes of fame.
Share books, songs, and rhymes with your children at this storytime designed to promote school readiness in 0-5 year olds. Librarians, caregivers and children will sing, talk, read, write and play together to build early literacy skills. Siblings are also welcome!
How well do you know your creepy crawly critters? Bug Guy's show is specifically designed to teach young audiences about insects (and related arthropods) in a fun and entertaining way. It's a dynamic blend of show 'n tell, storytelling, interesting facts and fun hands-on activities that include LIVE critters from the Bug Guy's zoo.
This year's Summer Reading Program theme is "Find Your Voice." What better way to find your voice this summer than with a ventriloquist! Ventriloquist James Wedgewood will be at the library to entertain you and make you laugh. While you are there, sign up for summer reading program and meet the St. Michael Royalty. This event is for all ages and sponsored by the St. Michael Friends of the Library.
